Did you buy a car in installments in the UK?

Edited by Adrian Defta

Check now if YOU were also affected by a hidden commission

Many Romanians in the UK have unknowingly paid thousands of pounds extra due to hidden fees included in car financing.

👉 Enter your license plate number and find out in seconds if your car could have been affected.

I thought that's how things worked... until a simple check showed me the truth

I had signed the contract. I had taken the car. I was paying the installments month by month.
And yet... something didn't add up.

What if your car payments were higher than they should have been?
What if you paid, for years, a commission that no one told you anything about?

This is what I was always told: " This is how car finance works in the UK. There's nothing you can do about it. "
Until one mundane, seemingly unimportant day that made me feel... cheated .

I thought it was normal. Until I realized it wasn't right.

It all started with a conversation over coffee with a friend. We were talking about cars, installments, interest rates.
At one point, he said something to me that stuck in my head:

"Did you know that some dealers were earning hidden commissions from financing deals?"

I laughed.
It seemed absurd to me.

I had signed a contract. Black and white.

Bank. Authorized dealer. Everything seemed correct.

But, for the first time, I asked myself a question I had never asked myself before:

👉 What if I wasn't told everything?

If you've ever had the feeling that something wasn't right... you understand what happened next

If you signed a PCP or Hire Purchase contract without being clearly explained why the interest rate is so high...

If you felt like you had no choice...

If you trusted that the dealer was offering you the "best option"...

Then you know that feeling.

A vague discomfort. A question that won't go away.

For years, I did nothing. I paid.

I told myself there was no point in digging up the past.

Until I found out that millions of people in the UK were affected by the exact same thing.

The moment when everything changed

One evening, almost out of curiosity, I entered my car's license plate number into an online calculator.

I had no expectations.
We didn't hope for anything.

After a few seconds, the message that made my stomach clench appeared:

"This car could have been financed with a hidden fee."

I reread it three times.

It wasn't an accusation.

It wasn't a promise.

But it was enough to make me understand a painful thing:
👉 it was very possible to have paid more than you should have.

What I found out made me look at everything differently

I found out that, over the years:

  • some dealers were financially incentivized to offer you higher interest rates

  • the fees were not clearly explained

  • Their interest was not always to make you feel good… but to earn more

And the hardest thing to accept?

Everything was happening legally, on paper — but unfairly towards the client.

Verification that doesn't oblige you to anything

The calculator doesn't tell you that you will receive money.
He doesn't promise you money.
Don't pressure yourself.

It only tells you the essential truth:

✔️ whether it's worth checking further
✔️ if there are real clues
✔️ if you could be among those affected

No cost.
No pressure.
No strings attached.

After years of silence, I felt… relief

Not because I had received money.
But because, finally, I knew.

I knew that:

  • it wasn't "just bad luck"

  • it wasn't "that's how the system works"

  • it wasn't my fault

For the first time, I felt like I was in control.

You don't have to believe me...

I'm not the only one.

Thousands of Romanians in the UK are only now discovering that:

  • their car was financed with interest influenced by commissions

  • no one explained this clearly to them

  • they had the right to transparency

It could be your story too.

If you bought a car in installments in the UK…
If you signed quickly, trusting the dealer…
If you've paid for years without asking questions...

Then it's at least worth checking.
